Here at Coastal Steelfixing we are always looking for ways to improve. All Occupational Health and Safety regulations relevant to our industry including guidelines, acts, legislation and recommendations are followed. With the implementation and enforcement of company policy, we are trying to achieve a safe and incident free workplace. All staff are inducted when they start and all safety issues are regularly addressed during pre-start meetings. Any training or further inductions are implemented as required.
Work Method Statements / Job Safety Analysis documents are produced and staff are made aware of their presence and contents. All staff read and sign these documents to confirm understanding of the processes. From time to time, as the documents are revised, a pre-start meeting is arranged and everyone is made aware of the changes or additions. It is important to Coastal Steelfixing that all staff follow the current statements and are kept up to date with any new developments.
Coastal Steelfixing supplies projects with a range of labouring and steelfixing personnel. Every company has a policy for site inductions and all people who enter a worksite must attend. The induction simply explains company policy, safety regulations and orientates the worker around the worksite - including tea room, smoking areas, first aid facilities etc. All staff who work on a project must abide by the rules and regulations as set out by the contracting company as well as maintain the Code of Conduct as set out by Coastal Steelfixing.
Government regulations are set up to protect employees from workplace hazards and to provide employers with the guidelines for creating a safe and productive workplace. Staff training needs are taken into consideration and is provided to ensure all staff have knowledge of the task at hand and how to perform their duties safely.
